Obliques are tricky, and when you see Aaron Judge grab his side on a follow-through of a swing (single to RF), in the 6th inning vs. the Royals 4/20/19, Yankee Universe can’t help but hold its collective breathe.
We all know the amount of Yankee injuries this season have been mind boggling, and this would be a devastating addition. We also know that the rallying cry is – next man up – but this is not any man or just another player. This is the team MVP both on and off the field. Now we wait for the results of his MRI. Many of us have questioned the strength & conditioning coaches, along with the medical staff of the Yankees, but one thing is for certain, if Judge’s injury to his left side turns into a long IL stint, it will feel like an enormous punch to the gut / oblique.
