Pat Venditte paid his dues.
He pitched in the Yankees minor league system
starting in 2008 with the Staten Island Yankees,
for 7 years working his way up the system
and finally got his chance to pitch
in MLB for the first last night with the Oakland A’s.
Pat pitched two scoreless innings against the Red Sox
last night in Fenway and received national attention.
Why did Pat Venditte a 30 year old rookie relief
pitcher go viral on sports reports all
across the country and the social networks ??
Because he is a .. Switch Pitcher !!
That’s right (and left) he is ambidextrous and pitches
with both hands ( not at the same time )
I was fortunate enough to interview Pat and his
Dad who coached him at a young age, and I can say
they are the finest people you could ever speak to.
They live in Omaha Nebraska , right across the street
from the Stadium where they play the College World Series every year.
The entire Venditte family have an absolute love affair with the
game of Baseball.
Regardless of how Pat performs in the future, last
night was a life long dream come true.
Congrats Pat. It couldn’t have happened to
a nicer guy and family.
