When Arod did his mea culpa back in 2009
admitting to taking Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs)
the news and press conference admission became by far the
biggest story in all of sports.
While most of the media was just covering the story at
face value, two thoughts came to mind immediately…
1) Don’t say I’m guilty but judge me from here forward
if …. you are still cheating !! My belief unlike the
large majority was that the Mitchell Report did not solve
the Steroid problem in the game of Baseball.
Because there was no blood testing at the time ( there is now)
cheaters like ARod (and many others) simply switched from
Steroids to HGH
2) Why the heck did you have to mention and drag into
your confession … your Cousin Yuri ?? You benefited
hundreds of millions of dollars by cheating, and should
have singularly taken the blame.
Now 6 years later, while ARod is breaking records and making
$25M a year to play the game of baseball, his cousin Yuri
has been sentenced to prison… and my song parody
turned out to be on point when I “joked” about ARod saying
to Cousin Yuri
“If I ever get caught… I’ll blame it all on you ”
