Over the last 7 games, Gary Sanchez is batting .440 (11-25) with 6 runs scored, 2 doubles, 3 walks, 4 Home Runs and 7 RBI’s. It’s been noted that Sanchez had lunch at Casa Lever in Manhattan last week with Alex Rodriquez and Jennifer Lopez. Sanchez said “Any advise coming from them, I will listen to”. Maybe the power-lunch helped lead to the power surge.
As far as I’m concerned, whoever talked Gary into hitting to the opposite field again, gets the credit. Both Sanchez and Judge on Monday night hit their homers to right field. That was extremely significant. That is the approach that makes them, and the entire line-up most dangerous !! The willingness and ability to go the other way on Monday, set up the homer by Sanchez off deGrom on Tuesday night pulled to left-center. Maybe it was hitting instructor Marcus Thames who gave the “right” advise. Maybe it was the power-couple who get credit for the power surge. Kudos to whoever reminded Gary to go oppo.
