Jose Bautista said ” I don’t think they (Yankees ) feel good right now”
after last night’s 2-1 Blue Jay extra inning win over the Yankees
at the Stadium.
“Joey Bats” is right, but the one big positive I took out of last night’s loss was that
Eovaldi , Wilson , Betances & Miller held that potent Toronto line-up (which
now includes Tulo ) to 1 run over 9 innings !!
It might sound odd, but I would rather the well pitched loss, than winning
a slug-fest in which our staff got bombed.
Jose was half right actually … the pressure is on BOTH teams today.
The Yankees obviously don’t want to see their 3 1/2 game lead
(5 in the loss column) dwindle any further, but the Jays also have the pressure of knowing
they need their expensive RENTAL arm, David Price to pay big dividends right now.
And as dominant as Price can be, the Yankees have had much success against him,
especially as of late.
It’s going to be interesting.
