Here is my tweet when I saw the line-up card for game 3 in Toronto showing Judge in CF and Stanton in RF,
POOR JUDGE-MENT:
There's no doubt Judge is athletic enough to play CF,
but is it worth the risk of injury?
imo NO
What if ball is hit into gap in right-center with game on the line? Will Judge & Stanton have the familiarity to call each other off / get out of the way?#Yankees— Mike Pinto (@MikePintoNYY) March 31, 2018
I know that Judge played CF in college and I stated that I had no doubt that he is athletic enough to play CF, but my point is Aaron Judge did not play 1 game in CF during ST nor at any time since being called up in 2016. Why throw the face and future of your franchise out there with zero preparation? The risk of injury is not worth it. I gave a very specific instance to beware of. It must of been a good point because later on in the afternoon john Flaherty made the exact same point on the YES pre-game show.
Judge for Yourself:
.@flash17yes has no doubt Aaron Judge is athletic enough to play CF, but asks: "Why do you have to do it the 3rd game of the season?" pic.twitter.com/1ubwA99P1o
