APPLE TURNOVER ?

The Yankees aren’t ready to turn over the big apple to the Mets just yet. New York has been a Yankee town for over 20 years, but the talk coming out of Met camp during spring training was.. this is our town now. It was understandable that the team from Queens was anxious to re-take the city. They were coming into the season with a super-talented and deep starting rotation. Syndergaard, Harvey, deGrom, Matz, & Wheeler were going to dominate batting orders and the back page of the local papers. At the same time the Yankees were coming off a season where they were sellers and in the midst of re-tooling. Well, it turned out that the Mets were ravaged with injuries this season, and the Yankees proved to be ahead of schedule with their rebuild. At the trade deadline the Mets were unexpectedly sellers, and the Yankees were buyers in a big way.

SUBWAY SERIES:

That brought us to the 2017 Subway Series. 4 games for NY bragging rights. The Mets were depleted but still held out hope due to the fact that deGrom and Matz would both be starting in the home & home series. Not only did the Yankees take the series but they swept the Mets. Here were my twitter headlines…

Game 1) ** AA TRAIN ** ( AA.Ron Hicks & AA.RON Judge go deep)

Game 2) ** ELL TRAIN / deGROM deRAILED ** (Ellsbury buries one vs. deGrom)

Game 3) ** Di TRAIN ** (Didi big bases loaded 2RBI 2B & Judge hits 457′ moonshot)

Game 4) ** 4 TRAIN ** ( *4* Game Sweep !! Sanchez 5RBI, Sevy 6.1 Inn 1R 0ER)

Now that the Yankees have proven that NYY 4 Train > NYM 7 Train, it’s time to jump on the ACELA EXPRESS up to Boston and take care of some unfinished business in beantown.

As always,

GO NYY !!
