LAST NIGHT CC’s V-LO WAS NOT V-LOW

At least for one night .. CC found his Velocity.

The hardest pitch CC Sabathia has thrown since

2013 was 93.8 mph.

Last night at Yankee Stadium vs. the Red Sox,

CC struck out David Ortiz with the bases loaded

in the 5th inning of a 1-1 game … with a 94.7 mph

2 SEAM Fast Ball !!

All night long his FB velocity was noticeably higher

than any start this season. Also noticeable was that

CC was extremely emotional on the mound.

From barking at the home plate ump

to fist pumps and screaming after striking out Ortiz.

It’s been a difficult season for Sabathia so far.

His 3 Hit, 1 Run, 6 Inning performance lowered

his ERA to 5.34.

Is the velocity back .. or was it just for one night ?

No one is sure. Not even CC.

One thing is for sure, Sabathia contributed

mightily to a win last night that was the rubber game of a

series against a last place rival that the Yankees did NOT

want to lose…. especially with Toronto coming to town next.
